Workshops
| Fun with Folktales: Students may perform folktales and fables from all across the world. Many stories are available. Includes props, costumes, and backdrops or supplies for students to create those items. Workshop includes performance.

| It’s Play Time: Students will create all the elements needed to put on a play. They will learn the beginning art of direction, playwriting, set design, acting, stage management, costuming, etc. All workshops will end with a performance. (Workshop time must be at least four hours)

| All about Improv: Improvisation is a fun way to experience drama no matter what level your experience. This workshop can be tailored to any experience level or need. Improv opens the actor’s mind and imagination. Students will learn how to create scenes spontaneously using the rules of improvisation. The skills acquired in this workshop will last a lifetime!

| Treasure Chest Theatre: This workshop takes dress-up to another level. Students
may create characters and stories based on props and costumes taken from the treasure chest. Imagination is the key! Students will learn what elements make a good story, how to create characters, and how to work together to create a skit. Each workshop will end with a performance.

| Puppet Playmaking: This workshop is filled with fun! Students will create their own puppets and perform a puppet play. Many play subjects are available! Specially created for younger children, this workshop is a great introduction to creative play, art and drama. Students will improve communication and language skills, group play skills and listening skills.

| You Can Do It! Auditioning for Young Actors: Always a popular workshop, this will give you all the information you will need to start auditioning! You will learn what you should do before the audition, at the audition, and after the audition. Subjects covered are resumes, headshots, nerves, monologues, songs, cold readings, improvisation and more! All workshops
may end with a mock audition and individual notes from the instructor/director. Longer workshops may also include a panel of auditioners from the Boston theatre scene.

| Monologues and More: More and more youth auditions require a monologue. It can be a very intimidating task for a young actor. This workshop will change that. Students will learn how to find the right monologue and what steps they should take before performing it. Each student will leave the workshop with a monologue to be used at auditions and the confidence and skill to get the job!

| See the Scene: This scene study workshop will help young actors follow the correct steps in order to successfully perform a short scene or full length play. Using observation, research, characterization, and group communication skills, actors will perform scenes from several comedic and dramatics plays.

| Me, Myself, and I: Have you ever wondered how fabulous characters are created? Many actors use their own experiences and observations to create believable characters. This workshop will use real life experiences to create imaginative and unique characters and skits. This is a great way to use communication skills, learn the art of body language, and be silly, silly, silly!
